Stay

I set a great deal by the power of prayer, even if I don't do any regular form of ritual prayer.

I pray daily, not a formal or long prayer- but some general diffused good wishes for all. Tonight my prayers are
specially for Akeeyu - may all that is good by her, stay with her!

Hi Sujit!

Welcome here.

Heres wishing Akeeyu the typical Indian blessing- May she bear a hundred children (ok, a bit of gender nuetrality brought in there to make it politically acceptable!)

Sweet of you to pray ofr others, especially when we find it difficult to take time for pray for ourselves.

Recalling the doha " dukh mein sumiran sab kare, sukh me na koi, Jo sukh mein kare, dukh kaheko hoi"

Love you, dear

hey, if you pray for 100 kids and if its in india!.. then better not! very difficult for them yaa...! but if she is in US!.. then not just one hundred even more you can pray!.... where I live average parent has 5 kids!.. and after that they adopt more!...:)

Sujit, yes she is in the US. But the wish was more symbolic than anything else. She has been trying to have a baby for o so long and each time there seems to be something untoward. So the prayer was that a good thing (the foetus) STAY and that she become a mother.

The number is not so significant as at times even one baby can seem to the whole world to a mother! (ok, I know I am getting senti!)

Whoa, Shankari, NOT a hundred please, not unless they're all out of a test-tube, that poor mum will definitely not survive it unlike Gandhari......Anyway, prayers DO work- and the more prayers, the better....so I'll join mine with yours

Hmm well nice to see a believer. I pray coz I believe in the repercussions if I don't. Go figure, mine are more like extended conversations. I think God usually nods off which explains why so many of my prayers remain unanswered
